The clients of Byrne road required more bedrooms and a sense of space on a modest budget, within a typically small 2 bedroom flat. We designed a series of spaces, all light filled that exceeded the client’s expectations.

Reversing the roof pitch of the rear loft conversion allowed a genuinely spacious third bedroom. A fourth space was created as a guest bedroom and cinema room, utilising every square foot of the plan creatively through dual purpose rooms and built in furniture. Omitting storage areas allowed the double height living space to be created, giving different qualities of light to the spaces.

Externally, differing widths of Zinc seamlessly sit with the London Stock Bricks below and give the home a unique architecture that is both beautiful and robust. The scheme was recognised by the Architects Journal Retrofit Awards and won the Federation of Master Builders award.
